BIRHTDAY, BIRTHDAY, BIRTHDAY!

Aug 5th was Aliya's 6th Birthday. She was pretty excited when she woke up with presents. A Baby Alive and more clothes. When she got home from school she got her first new bike, with helmet and pads. Hiedi and I even took her a happy meal for lunch. I was watching Hiedi, one of Aliya's friends, while her dad was at a training exercise. (We work together)

THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL, ALREADY?

Ethan's now in the Third grade and Aliya is in First grade. We are excited about the school year ahead and we have heard nothing but good things about both of thier teachers. (Ethan's Picture with his teacher didn't turn out very good :( )

Our summer Vacation

We went straight from the deserts of Arizona to the beaches of California. We started our little trip by taking a trolley ride to Laguna Beach. Everyone had a good time playing on the beach, the water was a little to violent for the kids though. As we were leaving we saw the Tsunami sign....? :)

The next day we went to Imperial Beach, the water was a little better and we were able to walk down the pier and see what the fishermen were catching, like this huge Starfish!

We visited "The Brig" (were the Marines stood guard) and some of the airplanes on board the ship.

One of our stops was a trip to the Aircraft carrier, U.S.S. Midway. It is one of the worlds most visited military museums. We were there for 4-5 hours and maybe saw half of what there was to see. The ship is docked in the San Diego harbor. It was a trip looking over the edge of the ship and seeing how far down the water actually was. We ate lunch aboard the ship and I took the opportunity to take the pic of Aliya with the Flag. Two of the things I love!
